Your role and responsibilities

The Associate Partner is responsible for senior client relationship management, consulting sales, solution shaping, and delivery leadership for Japanese banking clients in APAC. The role drives account growth, leads complex banking transformation initiatives, and acts as a trusted advisor to client executives.

Client & Account Leadership
  • Executive-level client relationship management with large banking clients
  • Trusted-advisor capability with CXO and senior stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management across client, IBM Consulting, Technology, and partners with good communication skills
  • Ownership of account planning, pipeline development, deal shaping and closure
Sales & Commercial Leadership
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end consulting sales/delivery cycles (50% sales:50% delivery)
  • Ability to shape and close medium to large transformation deals esp. in Core Banking and Payments areas for Corporate Banking domain
  • Strong commercial acumen (pricing, margins, delivery economics)
  • Experience building multi-year account growth strategies
Banking Domain Expertise

Demonstrated experience across several of the following areas:

  • Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Payments (incl. SWIFT, ISO 20022)
  • Corporate Lending and Trade Finance (either of these will do)
  • Core Banking transformation (CASA, GL, CIF)
Solutioning & Transformation
  • Ability to lead solution design for complex banking programs
  • Experience integrating consulting, technology, and managed services
  • Strong understanding of Core Banking, Payments, and Automation in banking
  • Capable of articulating business value, ROI, and regulatory impact
Delivery Leadership
  • Track record leading large-scale banking delivery programs
  • Strong governance, risk, and issue management experience
  • Ability to balance client satisfaction, delivery quality, and commercial outcomes
  • Experience overseeing multi-vendor and multi-workstream programs
Leadership Attributes
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Commercially driven, relationship-oriented
  • Able to operate effectively in complex, matrix environments
  • Proven people leadership and talent development capability
Required technical and professional expertise
  • The ideal candidate should possess at least 10 to 15 years of Corporate Banking client facing experience within a reputable Consulting company
  • Strong client stakeholder management and a proven track record in pre-sales and delivery
  • Well-versed in technologies such as Cloud, Data or AI
  • Possess excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively with globally dispersed teams
