Assistant Manager, Ceded Reinsurance
Reinsurance Assistant Manager manages the operations of reinsurance programs and service delivery on established standards, working closely with local and regional stakeholders to ensure effective reinsurance protection and operational efficiency.
The role is based in Singapore, reporting to CEO Singapore and Head of Ceded Re APAC.
1. Operations Management
- Administration of the Reinsurance Portfolio including treaty contracts set-up in the system, rendering of Treaty Statement of Accounts, Excess of Loss Treaties Premium Adjustment, Profit Commission, Reinstatement Premiums etc
- Timely and accurate Quarterly Submission Technical Statement of Accounts, including bordereaux submissions and portfolio monitoring
- Support automation, system enhancements and workflow improvements.
- Work with internal teams (eg IT, business, finance, compliance) to resolve operational issues
2. Reinsurance Protection Arrangement & Statistics Collation / Analysis
- Management of Treaty Reinsurance Renewals including negotiation, placement and obtaining management approvals
- Preparation of Treaty Renewal Statistics including EQ/Flood/PA Modelling data and Retention Review data
- Check Treaty Contract Wordings, Update of Treaty Arrangements & Guidelines after renewal conclusion
3. Portfolio & Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitoring and Management Reporting on Treaty Performance, Reinsurance Security Rating Movements, Reinsurance Usage Concentration and Reinsurance Contract Certainty
- Preparation and management of Regulatory submissions such as MAS 122, 114 and GIA Contract Certainty Reporting
4. Others
- Handling and Management of internal and external Audits on Reinsurance, and Compliance related reporting, request and queries
- Handle and Support request and task assigned by Regional, Global Head Office, Auditor and Regulator, etc
Skills & Experience
- Min 3-5 years of experience in reinsurance operations
- Good working knowledge of treaty and facultative reinsurance structures
- Familiarity with treaty renewal statistics submissions, catastrophe modelling, rating agency considerations
- Good understanding of commercial and consumer insurance portfolios
- Strong analytical skills and competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong team player with good communication and coordination skills
