About MORROW

MORROW is a boutique urban planning, architecture, and urban advisory practice based in Singapore, working across the region and internationally. Our work sits at the intersection of urban policy, planning, design, and governance, supporting public‑sector and institutional clients on complex city and development challenges.

We are a lean, professional firm known for thoughtful work, long‑term client relationships, and a strong emphasis on rigor and quality. As the practice continues to mature, we are strengthening our internal systems and looking for an Assistant Director, Operations to take ownership of the firm’s operations.

The Role

This is a new role. The Assistant Director, Operations will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for running the firm’s operational backbone.

Supported by a small team of administrative staff, you will own the firm’s financial and operational framework, set standards, and ensure discipline, visibility, and consistency across the practice.

The role is to lead, coordinate, and optimize the firm’s operational activities, allowing professional teams to focus on client work.

Key Responsibilities
Financial & Business Operations (Primary Focus)
  • Own the firm’s financial operations, including cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and operational dashboards for firm leadership
  • Act as the primary liaison with the firm’s external accounting firm, auditors, and banks
  • Provide financial and operational insights to support leadership decision‑making
Operational Management & Process Ownership
  • Take ownership of firm‑wide operational processes and SOPs
  • Own and maintain HR SOPs and internal policies and support performance appraisal and manpower planning from an operational perspective
  • Oversee office operations, facilities, and vendor management
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors on system reliability, security, and cost management.
Governance & Regional Coordination
  • Liaise with the firm’s corporate secretary on statutory and compliance matters
  • Maintain corporate and operational documentation.
  • Act as the administrative liaison with MORROW’s Shanghai office, coordinating operational, financial, and administrative matters
Who We’re Looking For
  • 7–10 years of experience in managerial finance and operations preferably in a professional services firm (consulting, architecture, planning, engineering, legal, or similar)
  • Recent post‑graduate candidates with strong academic backgrounds in finance, business administration, or management from universities of good standing will also be considered.
  • Strong background in managerial accounting, cashflow management, and internal controls
  • Organised, reliable, and able to operate with autonomy
  • Looking for a new challenge with broader responsibility and leadership exposure
  • As the firm has offices in China, proficiency in Mandarin is preferred
  • Only candidates who do not require employment pass sponsorship will be considered (i.e. Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents)
