Purpose

Within the tanks construction scope, monitor all relevant contractor activity to ensure work meets the planned project schedule and other project specifications and the work is delivered and achieved safely on time and with the desired quality.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall management and coordination of construction contractors for the tanks construction works assigned to maximize productivity and maintain schedule.
  • Report to the Construction Manager and the Project management team daily.
  • Monitor and ensure work is completed in accordance with the Contractors’ Project Execution and HSE Management Plans and ensure full compliance to these plans.
  • Monitor the execution of the site-built tanks construction work he has been assigned.
  • Assist with the detailed planning of day-to-day direction of field activities.
  • Review of resource forecasting to ensure adequate and timely supply of materials, equipment and manpower.
  • Review and report to management of possible costs and trends in the construction activities.
  • Ensure alignment of the Contractor’s construction schedules, methods, adequate resourcing, material and equipment requirements.
  • Monitor scope of Contractor for any possible changes to scope, cost, time and schedule changes to a project.
  • In conjunction with the field planner, ensure the execution plan for each schedule activity of the work is logical, achievable and adequately resourced.
  • Ensure effective communication with various stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular communication and liaison with the Construction Manager on field activities and ensure communication on existing or potential problems which may affect performance of the work.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with the Contractor.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and terms and conditions of the Contract.
Technical and Industry Experience
  • Knowledgeable of construction industry practices for the erection and testing of field erected tanks and structural steel.
  • Excellent technical and practical skills to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely delivery of the scope of responsibility.
  • 10-15 years relevant experience.
  • Good safety implementation experience and successful safety performance required.
  • Solid Quality assurance experience and performance required.
