Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing reservoir characterization activities, including geophysics, petrophysics, and geological modeling, ensuring understanding of reservoir properties and behavior in order to optimize production and reservoir development.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversees geophysical studies and surveys to map subsurface reservoir structures.
- Oversees utilization of seismic data and technology to analyze reservoir characteristics and identify potential drilling targets.
- Oversees collaboration with geophysicists and seismic interpreters to interpret data accurately.
- Oversees petrophysical studies to evaluate reservoir rock properties, fluid content, and porosity.
- Oversees conduction of core analysis, well log interpretation, and petrophysical modeling.
- Oversees integration of petrophysical data with geological models for reservoir characterization.
- Oversees geological modeling activities to build accurate reservoir models.
- Oversees collaboration with geologists to create 3D and 4D geological models.
- Oversees modeling software to predict reservoir behavior and optimize well placement.
- Provides reservoir characterization expertise to evaluate reservoir properties, connectivity, and performance.
- Oversees collaboration with reservoir engineers to optimize field development plans.
- Oversees conduction of reservoir studies, including material balance, pressure transient analysis, and decline curve analysis.
- Oversees analyses of reservoir data, geological models, and petrophysical data to make data‑driven decisions.
- Oversees preparation of comprehensive reports on reservoir characterization findings and recommendations.
- Communicates findings to senior management and cross‑functional teams.
- Acquires funds for the end‑to‑end unit's activities and manages assigned budget.
- Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the managed unit.
- Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high‑quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Advocates safety culture across the organization.
- Provides environmental, health, and safety leadership in maintaining a goal of zero incidents, process safety and environmental events within the area of responsibility.
- Develops and implements operational excellence (OE) requirements within the assigned area, coaching staff in expectations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
- Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area managed and the organization more widely.
- Performs any other relevant task as directed by Petroleum Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 15 years in Reservoir Characterization/Reservoir management with 3+ years in leadership roles.
- Education: Bachelor's in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or Reservoir Engineering (Master's preferred).

Fluent in English; Arabic is an asset.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
