Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Location: Saudi Arabia

Job Overview

The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, optimizing, and improving industrial processes to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role involves developing process strategies, performing technical evaluations, troubleshooting process-related issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in process engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize process designs, operating parameters, and engineering deliverables for projects and plant operations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, heat & material balance calculations, and risk assessments using industry-standard software.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve performance and reduce downtime.
  • Prepare process engineering documents including PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, operating manuals, and commissioning procedures.
  • Ensure process systems meet safety, quality, and environmental standards aligned with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and contractors for project execution, procurement, and process integration.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and plant modification activities by providing technical guidance and field engineering support.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, energy optimization, and workflow improvements within the plant and process lifecycle.
  • Lead HAZOP, SIL reviews, technical audits, and participate in safety and reliability improvement programs.
  • Monitor process KPIs, analyze operating trends, and recommend enhancements based on performance insights.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, EPC, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in plant operations, commissioning, and process optimization activities.
Skills Required
  • Strong proficiency in process simulation tools such as ASPEN HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Pipesim, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, heat & mass balance, thermodynamics, and process safety concepts.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards such as API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, and IEC.
  • Hands‑on experience in conducting HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and safety analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and process improvement skills.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, prepare engineering reports, and support decision‑making activities.
