Are you an experienced Planning Engineer with a strategic mindset and expertise in managing complex design schedules and budgets? We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team, focusing on medium-complexity design projects within the Infrastructure and [Specific Sector, e.g., Transportation / Water] fields.
You will be the primary support for Project Managers, ensuring our projects are meticulously planned, monitored, and controlled from conception through delivery within a top-tier multinational environment.
What You Will Do (Core Responsibilities)
- Schedule & Budget Development : Work closely with Project Managers to develop detailed project budgets, work breakdown structures (WBS), project activities, and critical path charts for design projects.
- Baseline Management : Support the preparation and administration of comprehensive Project Management Plans, including setting up and managing schedule baselines, project scope baselines, man-hour estimates, and budgets.
- Monitoring & Control : Lead the monitoring and management of project schedules and resource allocation, implementing modifications to the schedule baseline and ensuring strict adherence to allocated budgets.
- Scope & Change Management : Proactively manage changes in project scope. Work with Project Managers to identify potential risks, develop contingency plans, and maintain project scope integrity.
- Reporting & Progress Updates : Prepare and contribute input for periodic project progress reports for clients and internal stakeholders, flagging major schedule or cost issues for immediate resolution.
- Software Expertise : Apply excellent knowledge of project management software (e.g., Primavera ) to utilize complex functions for scheduling and cost control.
- Financial Coordination : Track the preparation and collection of invoices for project deliverables in coordination with the local Finance teams.
What You Will Bring (Mandatory Skills & Qualifications)
- Education: Minimum requirement of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. PMP certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in Infrastructure and [Specific Sector] design, specifically within a design project planning function. 5+ years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Planning Industry, preferably within a top-tier regional or multinational engineering consultancy firm.
- Demonstrated expertise and a strong track record in planning design projects, including schedule and cost control.
- Technical Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of project management software, with demonstrated experience using complex functions of Primavera or similar high-level tools.
- Strong understanding of [Sector] design processes.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. Arabic is an advantage.
- Regional Experience: Significant experience working within the Middle East is required.
