A leading engineering company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Civil Engineer to provide technical support for construction activities on site. Overview

Provide technical support for the construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities on site. Coordinate between engineering/design team in office and construction/commissioning teams in the site to answer all engineering-related clarifications from the site and provide site feedback to the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Technical support for site activities (construction, installation, testing and commissioning) from engineering/design perspective. Represent the engineering department on site.
• Control and communicate design changes based on site conditions.
• Enable and control two-way communication between engineering team in the office and construction/commissioning teams on site.
• Provide timely, clear and comprehensive technical answers to RFIs on site in coordination with the responsible engineers in the office.
• Provide timely, clear and comprehensive feedback to the engineering teams on their design from construction/commissioning perspective.
• Prepare engineering/design sketches or details to support site activities in coordination with engineering teams in office.
• Control the release of IFC drawings/documents based on site conditions.
• Integrate and control Red-marked As-built drawings/documents and provide necessary support for the engineering team to prepare the final As-built version for all engineering deliverables to the site based on red-marked drawings from the construction team.
• Review and approve sub-contractors material submittal.
• Issue Purchase request for Engineered material on site, if required.
• Ensure consistency between design and execution on site.
• Highlight scope and/or design changes (data for claims).
• Follow company and engineering department procedures and workflow.
• Participate and provide necessary input to build and enrich company's lesson learned and knowledge database.

Required qualification

• Bachelor degree of civil engineering.
• Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications
• Ability to interpret most current design codes.
• Strong experience in engineering and design of Plants (Power, Oil&Gas, Chemical, Industrial Plant) on EPC contract basis.
• Working knowledge and ability to use engineering software to support site activities.
• Cost and time schedule awareness.
