The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a professional qualification with a minimum of 3 years' experience. Key responsibilities include preparing VAT returns, managing accounts payable, and supporting audits. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software are essential. This role is open to Saudi nationals only.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file GCC VAT returns.

  • Manage the purchase ledger (accounts payable).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Riyadh. The role will focus on ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with local regulations, and supporting the wider finance function in a fast-paced environment.

This position is ideal for an experienced accountant who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a growing, dynamic business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax & Compliance
    • Prepare and file GCC VAT returns, working with support from external advisors.
    • Ensure all financial transactions comply with ZATCA and local regulations.
    • Quarterly SAMA reports
  • Core Accounting
    • Perform and review bank reconciliations.
    • Manage the purchase ledger (accounts payable).
    • Post and review journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • General Accounting Support
    • Carry out day-to-day admin tasks within the accounting function.
    • Assist with financial audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance OR professional chartered qualification (SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Industry experience required (not just audit).
  • Experience in start-up or fast-growth environments is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and VAT legislation in KSA/GCC.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Zoho, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • In line with Saudization efforts, this role is open to Saudi nationals only.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience with multi-currency transactions and inter-company accounting.
