Job summary

A leading global energy firm in the Riyadh Region seeks a quality control specialist to oversee daily laboratory testing and ensure products meet specifications. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and possess strong hands-on experience with ASTM testing methods and laboratory equipment. Additional ISO 17025 experience is highly valued. This role promotes diversity and individual growth within the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in ASTM testing methods for lubricants required.
  • ISO 17025 certification or experience in ISO 17025-accredited lab required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily laboratory testing and ensure product release after meeting specifications.
  • Ensure testing is conducted as per recognized ASTM methods.
  • Maintain lab documentation and calibration records.

Job description
Context & Environment

Lack of quality driven suppliers in the market

Occasional changes in the specifications of some raw materials (when the base oils are imported)

No reliability in the quality produced for packaging materials

STPP is a JV (51% for TotalEnergies & 49% for Zahid)

Activities

Oversee daily laboratory testing and ensure release of products only after meeting specifications.

Ensure all testing is conducted as per recognized ASTM methods relevant to lubricants.

Control lab documentation, traceability, calibration records, and COA issuance.

Ensure equipment maintenance and timely calibration to prevent test deviations.

Ensure root cause investigations for complaints and non-conformities.

Drive improvements in product quality and laboratory efficiency.

Ensure all testing is conducted as per recognized ASTM methods relevant to lubricants, using laboratory equipment such as Flash Point, Auto titrator, Coulometer, Pour Point, Viscometers, Cold Cranking Simulator, FTIR, ICP, etc.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent (required).

Strong hands‑on experience in ASTM testing methods for lubricants (required).

ISO 17025 certification / experience in ISO 17025-accredited lab (required).

Hands‑on experience in operating lubricant testing equipment such as flash point tester, viscometer, cold cranking simulator, FTIR, ICP (required).

Experience with LIMS systems (advantage).

Lubricants industry experience (preferred).
