Job Title: Network Intern (Cooperative Training)

Location: Jeddah

Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities
Network Operations Support
  • Support day-to-day network operations (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi) and assist in maintaining stable connectivity across sites.
  • Help monitor network performance and availability, and elevate issues when needed.
Configuration & Implementation
  • Assist in basic configuration tasks under supervision for switches, routers, and wireless access points.
  • Support network changes (VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS basics) and follow change management procedures.
Troubleshooting & Connectivity
  • Troubleshoot common network issues (no connectivity, slow speed, Wi‑Fi coverage, packet loss) using structured troubleshooting steps.
  • Support onboarding and provisioning of devices (PCs, printers, IP phones, attendance devices) and verify end‑to‑end connectivity.
Monitoring, Logs & Reporting
  • Assist in monitoring network devices via tools (NMS/Firewall dashboards) and reviewing logs/alerts for abnormal behavior.
  • Contribute to weekly/monthly reports (uptime, incidents, root cause, actions taken).
Security & Access Control Support
  • Support basic network security tasks such as firewall rule requests, VPN user support, and access control updates under supervision.
  • Assist in implementing standard security practices (least privilege, segmentation, secure Wi‑Fi settings).
Cabling & Physical Network Tasks
  • Help with patch panel organization, labeling, cable tracing, and documenting rack layouts.
  • Support site readiness checks for network closets and equipment.
Documentation & Standards
  • Update network documentation (topology diagrams, IP plans, device inventory, configuration backup references).
  • Help ensure configurations follow internal standards and naming conventions.
Qualifications
  • Currently a student in Networking, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing basics, DNS/DHCP).
  • Familiarity with common network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, APs) and troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute).
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication, and ability to work within a team.
