II. POSITION SUMMARY
Working at the Site to support project execution. The incumbent will interact with the Site team and the Project Management team to execute his duties.
The incumbent is responsible for onboarding and managing Contractor organizations that will be working inside the JIGCC area.
The incumbent is expected to have good knowledge of EH&S throughout all phases of construction and commissioning.
III. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
This position is accountable for the following:
•Review and comment on Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all work activities in JIGCC to ensure accuracy and validity of the same.
•Support the FULL implementation of the JIGPC EH&S documentation.
•Work closely with the Project Management to evaluate Contractors and ensure they are onboarded correctly.
•Support the implementation of the Project Emergency Response Plan within accountable area.
•Ensure EH&S Risks have been assessed and risk mitigation measures are in place.
•Assist project team in identifying Project safety concerns.
•Coordinate with Contractor to ensure HAZID and safety reviews for work activities in accountable area are completed in a timely manner.
•Establish a Program of inspections and audits in accountable area.
•Lead incident investigations and complete incident reports in accountable area.
•Ensure safety equipment is regularly inspected, fully operational and colour coded.
•Support the implementation of a roust Control of Work program.
•Monitor adherence to the LOTO work process, specifically that the LOTO is adequate and installed correctly
•Ensure all permits are adequately completed and fully implemented at Site.
•Ensuring Contractors safety programs and safe work practices are reviewed, and monitored on an ongoing basis.
•Ensuring EH&S information/expertise is provided to the site team when solicited to ensure compliance to JIGPC standards and local laws.
•Demonstrating strong leadership at all times throughout the Project phases.
•Coordinate safety training as required for the Contractor organizations.
•Actively participating in and leading safety promotion events, campaigns, competitions, established programs.
•Providing leadership to ensure prompt prioritization and coordination of all unforeseen issues at the site, escalating to the JIGPC EH&S Manager / Area Construction Manager as required.
•Ensure a robust incentive / disciplinary policy is implemented to promote strong safety performance.
•Give input to ensure the accurate completion of all EH&S reports.
•Ensure BSP is fully implemented in their respective work area.
Qualifications:
•NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is a mandatory requirement.
•Engineering / Science degree.
•Safety certificates in OSHA and IOSH (or equivalent) for short safety or environmental courses.
•10 years’ experience on international mega-Projects working as an EH&S Lead.
•Fluent spoken and written English.
•Familiar with all aspects of Construction Safety and possessing specialist knowledge in one or two areas of Construction Safety (i.e, Excavations, Scaffolding, Lifting, etc).
•Being a good team player, good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Physically fit and able to spend a large proportion of the day on Site.
•Ability to work in a multifaceted / multinational organizational matrix with a variety of working relationships.
•Willingness to travel and be based in remote location.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
1.Knowledge and experience of industrial gas Projects.
2.Knowledge and experience of EPC management
3.Arabic language skills
