Job Summary

Take on the role of consultant in Gastroenterology at our prestigious hospital, where you will lead the gastroenterology team, provide specialized care for patients with digestive system disorders, drive research initiatives, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care, and ensure the implementation of advanced gastroenterology services and protocols.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive medical treatment and care for patients with digestive system diseases in both outpatient clinics and during inpatient stays.
  • Consultation: Offer consultative services to other departments and physicians within the hospital when requested.
  • Procedures: Perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as endoscopy, as authorized by clinical privileges.
  • Training and Education: Actively participate in teaching and training medical residents and fellows in gastroenterology.
  • Administrative Duties: Engage in hospital‑related committees and administrative functions as needed.
  • Documentation: Ensure the completeness and accuracy of patient medical records in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high‑quality standards of medical treatment, professional ethics, and hospital regulations, including CBAHI/JCIA standards.
  • Outpatient Services: Manage assigned clinics, conduct patient assessments, and implement treatment plans.
  • Inpatient Care: Oversee daily rounds for assigned inpatients and ensure their progress and condition are monitored and managed.
  • Collaboration: Refer patients to other specialists when necessary and collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and the laws of the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate from a medical school of good standing.
  • Completion of required period of training in gastroenterology and GIT.
  • Saudi Arab or American /European Board Certification or equivalent.
  • Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required.
  • A certificate recognized by the Saudi commission is a must.
  • Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience
  • Min. 3-4 years Post Board/Fellowship in gastroenterology.
  • A registered member of the Saudi Board Council.
Language
  • Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
References
  • Positive professional references attesting to the candidate's skills and ethical conduct.
