Job summary

An energy solutions provider based in Saudi Arabia is looking for a Technical Advisor to oversee instrumentation and controls during outages. The ideal candidate will lead outage planning tasks, commission and troubleshoot instrumentation apparatus, and ensure compliance with quality management systems. Strong knowledge of software-based DCS systems and the ability to generate detailed reports are essential. This role involves both field and office work, supporting a dynamic team during critical operations.

Job Summary:

• Perform Technical Advisor role (both Instrumentation and Controls) during planned / unplanned outages in the field under the leadership of Outage Project Manager
• Commissioning, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of instrumentation apparatus
• Plant modifications involving instrumentation, control, and monitoring systems
• Perform active role on outage planning under the leadership of OPM
• Assist Outage Project Manager to develop field service quality management system

Duties and Responsibilities:

Detailed

• Lead the development of I&C capabilities within the FS department
• Work within the FS backup team to develop outage planning deliverables, I&C procedures and I&C quality plans, etc.
• Support the FS backup office with pre-outage planning (Schedules, datasheets, histogram, etc.)
• Lead the I&C subcontractor’s technicians assigned for I&C works. Ensure their qualification by providing necessary support and training.
• Inspect measuring instrumentation systems for proper functioning
• Carry out logic changes
• To isolate, remove, refit, test, confirm integrity, calibrate and commission electrical equipment such as Flame Detectors, Igniters, thermocouples and other electrical equipment as required.
• To isolate, reconnect and commission Fire Detection Systems
• To carry out stroke and function testing of control valves and other control equipment as required at outage
• Plan and carry out interlock and simulation test of control equipment before commissioning of machinery
• Provide in house and client recommendations on equipment and wiring and equipment improvements, swap outs or replacements as required
• Excellent understanding of programing and software based DCS (Netmation) control systems
• Generate detailed field report of works performed within 15 days after outage
• Develop, review, revise field procedures, and related technical information.
• Interpret and apply drawings, field procedures, and technical documents to open/close activities.
• Perform other such duties as may be required by Outage Project Manager
