Responsibilities
- The assessment, validation and reporting of information on current and potential cyber threats to maintain an organization's situational awareness.
- The preparation for, handling of and following up of cyber security incidents, to minimize the damage to an organization and prevent recurrence.
- The monitoring of network and system activity to identify unauthorized actions by users or potential intrusion by an attacker.
- The management of an organization's information systems operations in accordance with the agreed Security Policy.
- The designing of IT systems to meet its security requirements, balancing this with its functional requirements.
- The verification that systems and processes meet the specified security requirements and that processes to verify on-going compliance are in place.
- The monitoring of compliance with agreed cyber security policies and the assessment and management of relevant risks.
- Leads on cyber security aspects of systems development and integration to function.
- Collects and analyses qualitative and quantitative cyber security data as required. Creates research reports to communicate research methodology, findings and conclusions.
- Continually seeks opportunities for functional level improvement.
- Is generally working to SFIA level 5(Ensure, Advise) some 4(Enable)
- Enhances and develops people capability within an organization to be deployed across the full range of Cyber Projects/ Programmes/ Portfolios of varying complexity and strategic importance.
- Extensive knowledge of the Cyber Career framework including with Professional institutions in order to support the broader development of the IM&T Function.
Job Requirements:
- Awareness of business unit policies and processes.
- Experience of working in an IT Development Function.
- Has a thorough understanding of recognized generic industry bodies of knowledge and specialist bodies of knowledge as necessary. Has gained a thorough knowledge of the domain of the organization. Is able to apply the knowledge effectively in unfamiliar situations and actively maintains own knowledge and shares with others. Rapidly absorbs and critically assesses new information and applies it effectively.

- Clearly demonstrates impactful communication skills (oral, written and presentation) in both formal and informal settings, articulating complex ideas to broad audiences.
- Learning and professional development - takes initiative to advance own skills and identify and manage development opportunities in area of responsibility.
- Security, privacy and ethics - proactively contributes to the implementation of appropriate working practices and culture.
- SFIA skills as defined in the appropriate Sub-Discipline available in the IM&T Skills Academy
- Relevant IT degree or business degree, experience in consultancy or people management position PREFERRED.
