- Oversee and coordinate activities of a shift, optimising availableresources and ensuring adherence to work orders/schedules and targets andobjectives
- Accountable for proper shift handover
- Supervise pre-commissioning inspections and/orcommissioning/de-commissioning of equipment
- Assist and delegate electrical isolation of equipment responsibilities
- Oversee signing for safe-making activities when declared competent
- Compile shift rosters
- Foster discipline and managing employee relationships, ensuring minimalescalation of disciplinary cases and grievances
- Ensure minimum disruptions to production due to resource availabilitywithin Shift Supervisor's control
- Issue permit to work on tasks carried out
- Conduct quality management on tasks completed on all permits
- Rectify findings and ensure compliance to elements measured by audits andchecks by manager
- Oversee and ensure adherence to all safety and quality standards,regulations, rules and procedures
- Oversee and ensure safe handling of equipment, tools, process chemicals,etc.
- Complete and oversee compliance to all shift administration, recordkeeping, and shift log requirements
- Report and elevate non-conformances/or deviations as and when requiredin compliance to procedure and protocol
- Arrange and evaluate shift emergency preparedness exercises; Take (firstline) lead in case of emergency
- Identify and remove any obstacles inhibiting team performance
- Perform routine inspections on equipment and systems
- Assist to identify and correct abnormal conditions
- Read and interpret (test/lab) results
