Job objective
The Center Physician (CP) works under the supervision of Center Manager and the Plasma Operations and Medical Director. The CP plays a critical role in the donation process where they supervise the entire process and relevant staff to ensure donor safety and plasma quality. The CP ensures that the center’s medical staff follows applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
- Rotational shifts (not fixed), 5 working days and 2 days off, 8 working hours
Key responsibility
- Ensure the proper selection of suitable plasmapheresis donors according to effective policies and procedures.
- Observe and confirm compliance of the center’s medical procedures as they affect donor safety and collected plasma.
- Train and certify the center’s medical staff on donor assessment and company policies and procedures.
- Provide additional necessary training, re‑certification and corrective actions for the center’s medical staff, in collaboration with the training department.
- Perform required physical examinations for donors.
- Review donor‑related documents carefully.
- Explain the Informed Consent and witness the donor’s signature on the form.
- Provide confidential education on high‑risk behaviors, enabling donors to self‑exclude if needed.
- Notify and counsel donors tested positive for infectious disease markers (HBV, HIV, HCV, syphilis, etc.).
- Manage donor adverse event reactions and provide appropriate care.
- Timely review accumulated data to confirm donor suitability, safety and product safety.
- Review laboratory data (SPE, syphilis, Total Protein) and determine if donor should be deferred.
- Approve donors with abnormal SPE results if subsequent results are normal.
- Recommend improvements to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provide education sessions to center medical staff per SOPs.
- Be proficient in the Plasma Donor System (PDS).
- Follow all cGMP and good documentation practice guidelines.
- Review QA reports and take timely actions on moderate complexity procedures for test problems.
Academic experience required
Essential: Bachelors Degree in Medicine.
Preferred: Post‑graduate studies in Medicine.
Professional experience required
