Job description
The Role:

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to lead our market penetration strategy. You will be responsible for building strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the water sector (Government entities, O&M companies, and EPCs) and securing pilot projects that pave the way for commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a business development strategy to target major utility players (e.g., SWA, Aramco, ACWA Power, Marafiq).
  • Pilot Acquisition: Lead the negotiation and acquisition of pilot testing agreements with potential partners during our current pre-commercialization phase.
  • Value Selling: Articulate SMI’s technical value proposition (Anti‑fouling properties, Reactivation capability, and Cost reduction) to technical and executive decision‑makers.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the Saudi water sector to position SMI effectively.
  • Partnerships: Build long‑term relationships with O&M contractors to include SMI in their supply chain.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in Business Development or Sales, preferably in the Water, Utilities, or Chemicals industry.
  • Network: Existing network within the Saudi water sector (SWCC/SWA, NWC, or major private operators) is a huge plus.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to grasp complex technical concepts (Membrane technology, Desalination processes) and explain them clearly.
  • Startup Mindset: You are a self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is willing to wear multiple hats.
  • Language: Fluent in Arabic and English (Written & Spoken).
