Overview

The Associate Director of Resort Operations (Fire & Safety) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of fire safety and emergency preparedness within both SFQC & AQC. The role includes managing the private fire‑fighting service provider, ensuring contractual compliance, monitoring performance, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement in fire and life safety standards. This position works closely with the Director of Resort Operations and the HSE Department to develop, implement, and enforce fire safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and compliance with regulatory authorities. The role also provides operational oversight during pre‑opening and operational phases, ensuring world‑class guest and team member safety while maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders and service providers.

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Safety Engineering, Emergency Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as NFPA Fire Protection Specialist, NEBOSH Fire Safety, CFPS, or equivalent.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in fire and life safety management, preferably within the theme park, hospitality, or large‑scale entertainment industry.
  • Proven experience in managing third‑party fire‑fighting service providers and contractual performance.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, local Civil Defense requirements, and international fire safety standards.
Responsibilities
  • Develop fire safety and emergency response processes, procedures, and standards for Six Flags Theme Park and Water Park.
  • Support the Director of Resort Operations in establishing fire and life safety goals, emergency evacuation plans, and fire prevention strategies.
  • Work closely with construction & Facility teams to ensure that fire systems (sprinklers, alarms, hydrants, fire pumps, suppression systems) meet international and local standards.
  • Liaise with external contractors and the private fire‑fighting service provider to align operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities in KSA to ensure compliance with civil defense, fire codes, and safety legislation.
  • Support Learning & Development in creating robust fire safety and emergency response training programs for employees.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for Security Operations team.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day Resort Operations for Six Flags and the Aquarabia Water Park while providing world‑class guest service and being accountable for operational excellence in safety, efficiency, and capacity.
  • Liaise with Six Flags Entertainment on Fire & Life Safety and Emergency Response matters.
  • Oversee the private fire‑fighting service provider, ensuring contract compliance, performance monitoring, and service‑level delivery.
  • Lead audits, drills, and inspections to verify readiness and compliance with fire safety standards.
  • Manage the integration of fire safety systems with park operations, including detection, suppression, and communication systems.
  • Conduct incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and emergency response.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to leadership, HSE, and operations teams.
  • Act as the key liaison with Civil Defense and emergency authorities during inspections, audits, and emergency events.
  • Promote guest and employee safety by maintaining a “Total Safety” culture across all park operations.
  • Carry out investigations as requested by the Senior Management Team and report back on findings.
  • Ensure proper handling of incidents in line with the agreed management process and procedures.
  • Continuously work toward improving operational efficiency and enhancing the overall guest safety experience.
