Job summary
A leading supplier company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Team Leader. In this role, you will manage the SQE team, oversee supplier quality management, and conduct audits to ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have 8–12 years of experience in quality functions, a strong background in PCB and electronics manufacturing, and proficiency in Mandarin and English. This position requires excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and will involve travel to supplier sites.

- Strong background in the PCB / CCL / electronics manufacturing industry.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

Lead and manage the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team to ensure supplier quality performance meets company and customer requirements.
Establish, implement, and continuously improve supplier quality management systems for PCB, CCL, laminate, chemicals, and electronic components.
Drive supplier audits, assessments, and qualification activities (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 where applicable).
Lead supplier quality issue resolution, including defect analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective/preventive actions using 8D, RCA, FMEA methodologies.
Monitor and improve supplier KPIs such as PPM, on-time delivery, yield, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
Manage supplier change control processes, including ECN, material change, process change, and re-qualification.
Collaborate closely with Purchasing, R&D, Manufacturing, and Customer Quality teams to ensure smooth supplier performance.
Support new supplier development, material qualification, and supplier risk management initiatives.
Prepare and present supplier quality reports, dashboards, and improvement plans to management.
Support customer audits, internal audits, and regulatory or certification audits when required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, Chemistry, or a related field.
8–12 years of quality or supplier quality experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or section head role.
Strong background in the PCB / CCL / electronics manufacturing industry is mandatory.
Solid knowledge of PCB materials, fabrication processes, surface finishes, chemicals, and failure modes.
Hands‑on experience with supplier audits, quality system assessments, and supplier development.
Well‑versed in quality management systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3.
Proficient in quality tools including 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and supplier negotiation skills.
Good leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
Willingness and ability to travel to supplier sites when required.
Good verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
