Software Test Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient QA Hybrid Test Engineer to join our dedicated testing team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and high-quality delivery of software products for our client, a prominent American automaker. Responsibilities
- Analyze complex business requirements and technical design documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and clear testability.
- Create, implement, and maintain detailed, reusable, and comprehensive test cases and test data based on defined requirements.
- Actively participate in defining and evolving the overall test strategy for specific sets of features or functional domains.
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with developers, other QA team members, and product owners to ensure alignment on quality status and priorities.
Skills and Qualifications
Must have
- Prior work with embedded or automotive systems, especially in the context of multi-ECU scenarios.
- Hands-on experience testing In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems and ADAS modules (such as Camera, Parking Assist, and Driving Assistance features).
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and their use in IVI/ADAS integration and validation.
- Ability to analyze logs and signals from multiple ECUs and sensors to validate system behavior.
- Ability to perform requirements traceability and ensure comprehensive test coverage for safety-critical features.
- Ability to design and execute integration tests that simulate real-world driving scenarios and user interactions.
- Proven experience developing, debugging, and maintaining Python code for automated testing.
- Experience managing Python virtual environments and dependencies.
- Proficient with Git for version control and JFrog Artifactory for artifact management in a collaborative, automated test environment.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation in English.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with developers, testers.

Manufacturing Hardware Test Engineer – Gigamon (Guadalajara Technology Park)
As a Manufacturing Hardware Test Engineer, you will develop and sustain hardware test solutions for our network visibility and security products. You will support and maintain automated test programs in Visual Basic, Perl, and Python to ensure robust coverage, repeatability, and efficient factory execution. You will own hands-on debug down to the component level and drive yield, quality, and process improvement throughput across NPI and sustaining production. This role requires clear communication with US-based teams and global manufacturing partners.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain manufacturing test solutions for Gigamon hardware platforms, from board-level to system-level failure analysis.
- Support automated test sequences and utilities using Visual Basic, Perl, and Python to test chassis-based and fixed integrated units under test.
- Familiarity with device programmers/programming pods for CPLDs, EEPROMs, and other programmable components.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting down to the component level using schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and lab equipment to isolate root cause on high-speed digital, power, and mixed-signal circuits.
- Support and resolve factory issues on test networks and test station security.
- Document test plans, procedures, and best practices; train factory engineering and technicians to ensure consistent execution.
- Support Warehouse conversion in both CST and CET timezones.
What you’ve done
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- 5–8 years’ experience as a hardware or manufacturing test engineer on complex electronic products, ideally in networking, security, or related hardware domains.
- Developed and supported automated manufacturing test solutions using Visual Basic, Perl, and Python for fixture control, data logging, and results analysis.
- Strong hands-on debug skills down to the component level using schematics, BOMs, and lab instrumentation.
- Experience supporting contract manufacturers and/or partners, including remote debugging, clear communication of findings, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Used device programmers and programming pods to program and verify firmware, CPLDs, EEPROMs, and other programmable devices in production.
- Collaborated with US-based cross-functional teams and communicated status, risks, and recommendations clearly in writing and verbally.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience in hardware/manufacturing test.
- 15% international travel required.

Test Engineer SME I will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems to assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control. This role supports profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the Site Test Engineering Subject Matter Expert for the assigned test area.
- Support other Engineers and help resolve questions.
- Coordinate and facilitate training for the plant on new hires, functionality, and upgrades.
- Track and communicate changes/enhancements to existing processes.
- Provide support to users and the department Principal Engineer.
- Ensure established processes are followed diligently.
- Lead as Site Subject Matter Expert to implement best practices.
- Lead as Site Subject Matter Expert in all global and regional TE systems/tools and applications.
- Carry out methodical machine/tester and process evaluations.
- Maintain and develop documentation for the responsible area.
- Participate in idea exchange within the department.
- Support site audits and customer visits.
- Identify ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes.
- Drive continuous improvement via trend reporting and metrics management.
- Suggest and implement new practices and processes that are best in field.
- Ensure 100% adherence to company policies and procedures (Health, Safety, Quality).
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality of data and proprietary information.
- Communicate key Test Engineering metrics to regional teams.
- Support and advise Business Unit Coordinators on test process reliability and accuracy.
- Drive process improvement for New Product Introduction.
- Coach, mentor, and train engineers within the Test Engineering team.
- Standardize Jabil processes site-wide in line with global direction.
- Share best practices with supporting data to Regional and Global TE teams.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
- Understanding and application of a broad range of test engineering tools.
- Structural know-how: ICT, AOI, AXI & FP.
- Debug know-how: read circuitry schematics, understand datasheets, and use debug tools.
- Functional know-how: Tester structure, Product architecture.
- Understanding of Jabil’s global strategies and site capabilities.
- Strong technical and analytical ability.
- Proven track record in change management, continuous improvement, and cost reduction.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Optics/Physics or Optical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience with Laser Diodes, Optical fibers, Mirrors/Filters, Prisms, Collimator.
- Experience resolving issues caused by lasers or optical components.
- Deep understanding of laser physics, fiber optics, and photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
- Experience with laser alignment, beam shaping, and safety protocols.
- Hands-on experience with cleanroom processes.
- Experience using interferometers, optical benches, and metrology tools.
- Experience in training, mentoring, or presenting to cross-functional teams.
