A leading pharmaceutical company located in Mexico is seeking a Specialist in Finance to ensure compliance with accounting and transfer pricing obligations. The role requires 5+ years in the accounting-tax area within the pharmaceutical sector and proficiency in both English and Spanish. Responsibilities include overseeing financial documents, driving compliance programs, and coordinating audits. This is a critical position requiring collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting-tax area within pharmaceutical companies.
  • Experience in an auditing firm, pharmaceuticals, or with multiple legal entities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Your Role at Baxter

The Specialist, Finance ensures timely and accurate compliance with accounting and transfer pricing obligations for the assigned legal entity(ies). They prepare, calculate, coordinate, review, complete, file, submit, and deliver financial documents and financial or tax reports. These reports include transfer pricing and related documents. The recipients incorporate external auditors, tax authorities, bidders, banks, leasing companies, local authorities, and both local and corporate offices.

What you'll be doing
  • We promote a culture of compliance with regulations and ethical business practices within the organization.
  • We drive the implementation of the ethics and compliance program and prevent, detect, and correct violations of the law, Baxter policies, and the Code of Conduct.
  • We identify accounting and tax compliance risks in assigned activities.
  • Issue financial documents and accompanying notes for the assigned companies.
  • Ensure they follow applicable financial standards (NIF, US GAAP). These documents are required by various entities such as bids, Ministry of Economy, banking institutions, surety companies, financial audits, and tax authorities.
  • We coordinate and ensure that Transfer Pricing obligations for the assigned entities are met promptly and accurately, including but not limited to the following activities:
  • We acquire, consolidate, and provide the required financial information and analysis.
  • We prepare financial information segregated by type of transaction for corporate or local review.
  • We maintain updated files of intercompany operation contracts.
  • We coordinate, provide, and review information for special calculations or transactions.
  • We coordinate, prepare, and review the transfer pricing study report in conjunction with external advisors.
  • We coordinate, review, and submit transfer pricing-related insightful returns to authorities.
  • We coordinate external financial audits and participate in special accounting and tax projects; we coordinate, review, and participate in fixed asset control processes and related documentation with local teams and shared service centers, including support for inventory coordination and reconciliation of consigned equipment with supply chain for the assigned entities; and/or complete and submit information to INEGI for the assigned entities.
  • Generate expense reports and any other vital reports to supervise month-end closing or validate financial information.
  • Coordinate and supervise the creation of accounts and cost centers and ensure proper mapping for electronic accounting.
  • Coordinate the generation and filing of accounting-financial reports required by financial authorities (general ledger, trial balance, chart of accounts, etc.).
  • We are responsible for controlling accounting and tax provisions and reserves assigned.
  • Ensure assigned accounting accounts are maintained, cleared, and reconciled against their corresponding sub-ledgers.
  • Provide support during visits or requests from tax authorities.
  • Align with and carry out Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, internal controls, and financial policies and procedures.
  • Prevent accounting and tax risks that may affect company operations.
  • Prepare, apply, and take ownership for accounting entries under your charge.
  • Support corporate or local tax and transfer pricing requirements or projects.
  • Assist in projects related to changes in tax and accounting obligations as assigned.
What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant with professional license.
  • 5+ years and accounting-tax area within pharmaceutical companies.
  • Experience in an auditing firm (preferred), or in pharmaceutical industry companies, or with handling multiple legal entities.
  • Experience with U.S.-based companies (preferred)
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in accounting, legal and auditing procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and multifaceted environment
