About The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Franchise Team, responsible for modernizing and rebuilding the client's Franchise Tool from scratch — a key step in retiring legacy systems and shaping a new, scalable, and cloud‑native architecture. This role involves working with cutting‑edge technologies across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers, collaborating with a global, high‑performance engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Modernize existing franchise systems and migrate legacy components into a cloud‑native architecture on Microsoft Azure.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and observability across distributed services.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams (frontend, DevOps, QA) to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code using industry best practices.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and database optimization for performance and scalability.
• Proven experience with Azure Cloud deployments (App Services, AKS, Monitoring, CI/CD).
• Experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms.
• Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely within PST hours.

Nice To Have Skills

• React.js and TypeScript experience for frontend collaboration.
• Docker and CI/CD pipeline setup (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Cucumber or other testing frameworks (JUnit, TestContainers).
• Experience with Gradle or similar build tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Exposure to event-driven design and domain-driven design (DDD) concepts.
• Prior experience with legacy system modernization projects.
