Formación

Job Description
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare procurement reports.
  • Review construction plans and perform quantity take-offs.
  • Develop and review detailed estimates and cost plans.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including ownership and presentation of final cost plans.
  • Apply Value Management techniques at project outset, collaborating with specialist teams when appropriate.
  • Drive value engineering and life cycle costing to support business decisions.
  • Lead the procurement process: implement strategies, manage pre-qualification, enquiries, bid evaluations, cost negotiations, and contract preparation.
  • Review and revise RFPs, ensuring effective evaluation and selection.
  • Approve subcontractor proposals, manage contracts, and oversee change requests.
  • Monitor cost variances and change control processes, updating budgets and documenting design changes.
  • Conduct cost checking and valuation work effectively.
  • Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  • Negotiate and agree on final accounts.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Act as the primary interface with clients and consultants at all project stages.
  • Advise senior leadership on cost performance, improvements, and new strategies.
  • Lead and manage cost management teams, ensuring delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Participate in recruitment, resource planning, and staff appraisals.
  • Capture lessons learned and update internal knowledge databases.
  • Utilize financial systems to track margins, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for internal systems.
  • Prepare reports, analyses, budgets, risk assessments, and other documentation.
  • Review and approve payment applications, monitor invoicing, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Advise on unforeseen costs or over-expenditure and propose corrective actions.
  • Travel to site locations as needed or be willing to work on-site.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with professional standards and company quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • 8-12 years professional experience related to Cost Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or any degree relevant to the position.
  • RICS, AACE Certifications/Memberships.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and experience explaining concepts, methodologies and deliverables to clients.
  • Strong client management, change management and teamwork & team management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft skills, specifically Excel & PowerPoint, CostX, knowledge of AutoCAD.
