Overview

The Product Manager is a senior management-level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction and leadership along with budgetary management. This role develops product plans, strategies and tactics and coordinates product lines through the product life cycle in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The objective is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase market share and obtain a competitive position.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Product Managers and/or multiple teams to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions).
  • Manage strategic program roadmap, development, launch, and marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product.
  • Supervise day-to-day product management for core products including product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies; help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results.
  • Drive client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients.
  • Develop plans and execute functional strategies for a country, region or business requiring coordination and integration across units; provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business.
  • Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address trials of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field.
  • Drive achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals; oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps in business plans.
  • Develop and communicate a business plan to approach the marketplace, and coordinate and implement team procedures, client problem resolutions, and client management.
  • Lead innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships, and prepare agreements.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets; drive compliance with applicable laws and regulations, adhere to policies, maintain ethical standards, escalate and manage control issues with transparency, supervise the activity of others, and create accountability for standards adherence.

Domestic Payments & Receivables – Role Context

The Domestic Payments Head is responsible for a diverse set of solutions that provide our TTS clients with domestic payments, collections and reconciliation services in Mexico. The role requires deep knowledge of markets, regulations and Citi policies to manage multiple domestic Payments & Receivables solutions within a high-complexity multi-product ecosystem in Mexico, one of the largest markets with significant growth opportunities for TTS.

Responsible for the P&L of diverse Domestic Payments & Receivables solutions that contribute to an annual revenue budget of $50MM and for leading the execution of aggressive growth plans. Domestic Payments & Receivables is the key business line under the Core Cash Management business.

Responsible for business strategy, product market activities, including identification of new opportunities by segment/country, regional competitor developments, attrition management, and regional regulatory/compliance and infrastructure changes. Fosters business transformation by anticipating market developments and needs. Leads technology modernization of the Domestic Payments & Receivables systems. Proactively coordinates market developments and leads execution to position Citi’s Domestic Payments & Receivables offering in the marketplace as the preferred solutions within its target market. Leads efforts to maintain and develop strategic partnerships to enhance our product offering and provide value-added solutions to our customer target market.

Partners with local and regional teams to execute a strategy to continuously gain market share in terms of transaction volumes and monitor results against objectives. Maintains effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders across geographic scope (global, regional, local) and roles to roll out solutions with proper time to market and compliance with policies and regulations. Ensures client satisfaction by providing competitive products and services and supporting new sales. Executes and adapts regional and global strategies related to Domestic Payments and Receivables products for the country.

Job Responsibilities

Define, maintain up-to-date and drive execution of the strategy for Domestic Payments and Receivables. Create and deliver on the annual financial plan to gain market share. Drive continuous improvement of the solution suite with focus on value-added services. Identify new opportunities to expand the offering. Maintain a roadmap to deliver new product features. Ensure the Domestic Payments and Receivables offering is competitive in service, function and price. Define and adjust the P&L and business model. Monitor KPIs and drivers to assess product performance. Leverage technology to automate the network and connect with Citi’s information systems. Foster commercialization, support deals and track pipeline execution. Research competitive landscape, industry trends, client needs, and drive actions to close gaps, develop and optimize networks, and partnerships. Establish operating models for all products: processes, service model, implementation model, and data requirements. Maintain all products in compliance with regulations and internal policies within the Risk & Control framework. Collaborate with Payments & Domestic Payments and Receivables Head to grow the business. Partner with Digital Channels, Liquidity Management Services, Trade, Operations, Technology, Sales, Implementations, Service, Compliance, Risk and others to continuously improve the network and client experience, delivering an end-to-end view of the business.

Additional Qualifications

The candidate for the position must have:

  • Deep understanding of Domestic Payments and Receivables business, products and markets
  • Product Management experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and influencing skills (especially with a non-directly managed team)
  • Solid client interaction skills with large global organizations
  • Proven track record of delivering results and execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpretation skills
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
