A leading automotive technology company located in Saltillo, Mexico is seeking a Product Engineer to lead projects for new design opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electromechanical Engineering, proficiency in CAD tools like NX or Solidworks, and strong problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include interacting with stakeholders, supporting design changes, and ensuring customer validation requirements are met. English proficiency of at least 90% is required for this role.

Position Summary

The Product Engineer is responsible to lead different projects for new Design Opportunities in order to meet program’s timing, cost and all customer validation requirements and construction events. This position interacts directly with different stakeholders like Suppliers, OEMs, Purchasing, SQE, ME, CAD, QCD, TE, etc. with the aim to fulfill / exceed excellence and quality. This position is to support activities in the traditional interconnects portfolio (Housings/Terminals), reporting directly to Product Engineering Supervisor. The main functions are related to New Designs, Design Changes, Cost Reduction Projects, Customer/Operations Support and Validation Plans creation/execution

Your Role
  • Education: Mechanic, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering or experience on the industrial design field.
  • 90% English (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge in product design & validation methods.
  • Problem solving skills, print interpretation, GD&T, and stack up studies.
  • Familiar in component manufacturing processes (plastic molding, stampings, machining, deep drawn, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and motivate others
  • Ability to lead projects, directing the activity of multiple support organizations and assure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Possess sufficient CAD skills to open, manipulate, assemble, and make minor modifications to 3D component models
  • Develop and improve the product collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, operations and quality
  • Interface with customers & suppliers in defining product requirements & component specifications.
Your Background
  • 2D and 3D CAD proficiency with NX or Solidworks.
  • Problem solving certification or training.
  • Experience in design of injection molded, rubber, sheet metal, with a general knowledge of the manufacturing process for each.
  • Experience in applying GD&T dimensioning and performing tolerance stacks.
  • General knowledge of industry specifications pertaining to USCAR, IATF:16949, etc.
  • Work with suppliers, purchasing, SQE, ME, VE, plant mfg., plant quality to resolve issues.
