Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add Process Engineer SMT located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, this role will be responsible for process engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements to support a manufacturing organization.

Summary

Experienced and detail-oriented Failure Analysis Laboratory Engineer with a strong background in materials science, semiconductor manufacturing, and root cause analysis. Skilled in using advanced analytical tools to investigate product failures, improve reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with various testing methods to evaluate the performance and reliability of electronic components, to identify failure modes, analyze underlying issues, mechanical testing, test plan for material characterization
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to analyze material performance, conduct experiments, and interpret data. Critical thinking is essential for developing new materials or improving existing ones.
  • Involved in Research & Development activities, conduct failure analysis on electronic components, assemblies, and systems using techniques such as SEM, EDX, X-ray, FTIR, and cross-sectioning.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and write technical reports, methodologies, and recommendations. FA procedures and workflows to enhance lab efficiency and effectiveness.
  • FA Tools: methods to identify failure modes, analyze underlying issues
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), Optical Microscopy, X-ray Inspection System
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D methodology
Educational Background

Usually holds a degree in materials science, engineering, or a related field, as experimented process manufacture SMT.

Required Qualifications
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to extend work hours when critical projects need to be completed
  • BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in manufacturing electronic
  • Experience in Reliability Projection Plans, statistical strong background, (black belt preferred)
