We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Operations Engineer to join our Infrastructure team and lead our cloud infrastructure automation initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure-as-code solutions that support our growing platform and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Design and implement robust, scalable infrastructure solutions using Terraform across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a focus on Azure.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules, configurations, and best practices for infrastructure provisioning.
- Architect infrastructure solutions that support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements.
- Collaborate with platform and development teams to understand infrastructure requirements and translate them into automated solutions.
Infrastructure as Code Leadership
- Lead the development and evolution of our Infrastructure as Code strategy and standards.
- Establish and enforce Terraform coding standards, module design patterns, and deployment workflows.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI with a focus on GitHub Actions.
- Implement infrastructure testing strategies including validation, compliance checking, and drift detection.
Operations & Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain existing Terraform‑managed infrastructure across multiple environments.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Perform infrastructure capacity planning and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure infrastructure security best practices and compliance requirements are met.
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Mentor junior engineers and help build team expertise in Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Platform, and Software Engineering teams to enable self‑service infrastructure capabilities.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide infrastructure expertise for new projects.
- Document infrastructure designs, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Implement blue/green and canary deployments, rollback strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor system performance and availability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and custom dashboards.
- Apply basic knowledge of SiteMinder for access management and authentication integration.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline release cycles and improve deployment reliability.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Good years of experience with Terraform in production environments.
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), with Azure preferred.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and tooling.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and GitOps workflows for infrastructure deployment.
- Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, AKS).
- Understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, load balancers, DNS, and security groups.
Infrastructure & DevOps Experience
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (Dynatrace, CloudWatch, DataDog , Prometheus).
- Experience with secrets management solutions (Azure Key Vault , HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
- Understanding of infrastructure security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with infrastructure cost optimization and resource management.
Soft Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and leading technical initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- HashiCorp Terraform certifications (Associate or Professional).
- Cloud provider certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with multiple cloud providers and multi‑cloud architecture patterns with a focus on Azure.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Consul Connect).
- Experience with infrastructure compliance and policy‑as‑code tools (Sentinel, OPA).
- Background in software development with understanding of application architecture patterns.
- Experience with database administration and data platform infrastructure.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation.
