Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of assigned payrolls operations. Completing payroll changes, on and off boarding, banking requirements for salary and tax payments and month end reconciliations. Actively payroll across countries in remit and being responsible for managing outsourced vendor services to ensure quality and achievement of SLAs. Also ensuring timely stakeholder query resolution and providing any additional project work support when required.
This role requires expertise in global payroll systems (ADP GlobalView and or SAP), strong knowledge of Local labor and tax laws, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and evolving business needs in a dynamic environment.
SCOPE
Partnering with embedded HR, PAG, COEi, Finance and other People Solutions functions to ensure the accurate and timely execution of payroll and benefit operations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Payroll Expertise
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees in Mexico, including calculations of earnings, deductions, taxes, and special payments (bonuses, terminations, corrections).
- Ensure compliance with Mexican labor and tax regulations (IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR, SUA) making sure the controls and segregation of duties are in place and adhered to.
- Validate payroll accuracy and electronic invoicing (CFDI) according to local (SAT) requirements.
System Management
- Maintain and optimize the ADP GlobalView payroll system, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
- Support integration between HRIS (Workday) and GlobalView.
- Perform payroll simulations, reporting, and troubleshooting within the system.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to align payroll processes with People Solutions team and the organizational goals.
- Act as a liaison with external vendors (ADP) for issue resolution and system enhancements.
Compliance & Reporting
- Coordinate monthly and year-end payroll activities, tax filings, and reconciliations.
- Generate reports for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Interface Testing & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in testing of payroll interfaces during upgrades or new implementations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive automation initiatives and best practices for payroll operations.
Training & Support
- Provide training and guidance to payroll teams on processes and system usage.
- Develop clear procedures and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Ensure a consistent focus and involvement in driving efficiencies and process improvements.
- Act in the best interests of the Employee who is central to all of your decisions and activity.
Technical/Functional Expertise
- Minimum 7 years of experience in payroll management in Mexico.
- Advanced knowledge of Mexican labor and tax regulations (IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR, SUA, CFDI).
- Strong proficiency in payroll systems (ADP GV, SAP HCM), HRIS (Workday), and MS Excel.
- Understanding of GL posting and finance integration.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Experience with AI tools and Microsoft Power Platform is highly valued.

- Ability to interact well with employees in the resolution of any query.
- Ability to interact well with your key partners including but not limited to the Payroll COE and HR Business Partners.
- Working within international / global remit and within and across other cultures.
- Manage vendor relationship to ensure service standards are maintained and key deadlines are met.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience with ADP Global View or SAP.
- Understanding of Equity and Mobility programs.
- Strong excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of payroll across multiple Latin American countries will be highly valued.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Good oral presentation skills with the ability to present non-technical details to a technical audience.
- Good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
- Good inter-personal skills, communicating well with process SMEs, business process owners, and RPA development team.
- A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to challenges, either individually or as part of a team.
- To be able to take ownership of an issue to closure.
- To be able to understand the importance of escalating issues that sit beyond the scope of the role.
