We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled NOC Transport / DWDM Technician / Engineer to lead critical troubleshooting efforts, drive network performance optimization, and support engineering and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in telecom and optical transport technologies, including DWDM systems, and a strong track record of resolving complex network issues. You will work cross‑functionally to maintain and improve network health while serving as a subject matter expert for both internal and external stakeholders.
This is a fully remote position based anywhere in Mexico and requires the ability to work rotational 24 / 7 shifts.
Lead the resolution of critical and complex network outages and impairments.
Develop and implement advanced troubleshooting methodologies for recurring issues.
Conduct forensic analysis of network events to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
Perform configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of DWDM and optical transport equipment. (OTDR)
Apply strong knowledge of optical transmission principles and network protocols during fault isolation and repair.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement improvements to the network.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for potential integration.
Oversee deployment, testing, and validation of new optical transport systems and related infrastructure.
Serve as a technical leader and advisor for Tier I and Tier II support teams.
Provide expert consultation to customers, field teams, and senior leadership.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical guides and incident reports.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by sharing best practices in DWDM and NOC operations.
Lead initiatives to optimize network performance and reliability.
Design and implement proactive strategies to minimize service interruptions.
Analyze network performance data and provide actionable recommendations for enhancement.
Ensure transport network integrity through proactive monitoring and optical performance analysis.
Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or equivalent professional experience.
Significant experience in telecommunications or network operations environments.
At least 1-3 year of previous NOC experience is required.
Strong experience and knowledge of DWDM technologies and optical transport systems.
Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining DWDM equipment.
Familiarity with network protocols and optical transmission principles.
In‑depth knowledge of Layer 1 technologies and network management systems.
Proven leadership in high‑pressure, technically complex situations.
Fluent English (written and spoken) required.
Exceptional problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work rotational shifts in a 24 / 7 environment.
