This role involves managing end-to-end accounting operations, overseeing payroll compliance, and ensuring accurate reporting. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in IMMEX environments and be fluent in both MXP and USD financial regulations. The position is full-time onsite with a Monday–Friday schedule.

About the Role

We’ve partnered with a long-standing manufacturing operation under the IMMEX program to hire a Lead Accountant for their facility in Tijuana.

This role is fully onsite and ideal for an accounting professional with strong experience in maquiladora environments, Mexican compliance obligations, and hands‑on payroll and financial reporting. You will manage end-to-end accounting operations, oversee payroll compliance, and ensure accurate reporting across multiple regulatory bodies.

This is an on‑site position in Tijuana with a Monday–Friday schedule.

What You’ll Do

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Manage full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (USD and MXP)
• Maintain bank ledger control and cash flow tracking
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and SAT‑compliant documentation
• Prepare income tax calculations, monthly and annual returns, and VAT refund submissions
• Support Safe Harbor calculations and annual regulatory filings
• Submit required monthly declaration reports (e.g., INEGI, salary reports, state filings)

Payroll & Labor Compliance

• Process payroll using TRESS payroll software
• Calculate payroll based on time clock entries
• Upload payroll to SAT (timbrado)
• Manage IMSS registrations, modifications, and deregistrations
• Oversee INFONAVIT contributions and monthly filings
• Complete SUA calculations and payments
• Maintain employee payroll files and documentation

IMMEX Compliance

• Ensure all obligations under the IMMEX program are met accurately and on time
• Maintain proper control of vendor invoices in compliance with SAT requirements
• Coordinate with Mexican federal and state authorities, including:
• IMSS
• INFONAVIT
• SAT
• FONACOT
• State payroll authorities
• INEGI

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of accounting experience in IMMEX / maquiladora operations
• Strong knowledge of Mexican financial, tax, and labor regulations
• Experience with:
• TRESS payroll
• Compaq accounting software
• SUA, SAT, IMSS, INFONAVIT systems
• Ability to prepare financial statements in both MXP and USD
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple reporting cycles
• Intermediate–advanced English (80%)
• Ability to work onsite full-time in Tijuana
