Descripción de la vacante

A non-profit educational organization in Durango is seeking passionate Instructional Assistants to provide educational instruction and support to students with special needs. Responsibilities include picking up students, assisting with assignments, and creating a positive learning environment. Ideal candidates have a commitment to education, knowledge of cognitive development, and must pass the CBEST. Benefits include medical insurance contributions, paid time off, and a retirement plan. This role offers $18-$22 per hour during school hours, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate people to provide educational instruction, care and supervision, and emotional support to students with special needs. Our Instructional Assistants create a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for the intellectual and social growth of students. If qualified, you may also be asked to serve as a substitute teacher.

About Us

McKinley is a non‑profit organization serving our communities with education, social services, and counseling. We offer educational services in our non‑public school where we work with local school districts to educate students with learning disabilities. A typical day includes
  • Using a company vehicle, pick up students from their home and create a positive start to their day.
  • Helping students complete assignments.
  • Helping students regulate their frustrations.
  • Dropping students off at home at the end of the day.
The ideal candidate
  • Unwavering belief in and commitment to supporting students with their educational goals.
  • Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles.
  • Associate's Degree or 60 units preferred.
  • Passed the CBEST.

What we offer
