Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to lead the finance function at one of our most significant and rapidly growing operations in Mexico. This is an exceptional opportunity to partner closely with senior regional and local leadership while driving financial excellence, operational performance, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will serve as the senior financial leader for a large, complex manufacturing site with approximately ,000 employees, working closely with the Regional Finance Leader and the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under local and international accounting standards.
- Oversee and develop a strong accounting and finance team across AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Conduct regular reviews of operational and financial metrics including shipments, productivity, scrap, labor, estimated EBITDA, and operating cash flow.
- Manage treasury activities, including daily cash forecasting and liquidity oversight.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting and deliver ongoing variance and margin analyses.
- Partner with operations to identify cost-reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean principles.
- Manage capital expenditure planning, financial justification, and spend tracking.
- Oversee physical inventory processes and ensure strong inventory controls.
- Support regional and corporate reporting requirements and deliverables.
- Optimize ERP usage to improve reporting, visibility, and financial processes.
- Ensure strong compliance with statutory reporting and internal control standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish / English required.
- 10+ years of finance and accounting experience within manufacturing environments.
- Minimum 5 years in leadership roles managing finance teams in mid- to large-scale operations (600+ employees).
- Strong background in standard costing, operational finance, and performance management.
- Bachelor's in accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams and collaborate with operations.
- Strong communication skills, executive presence, and analytical capability.
- Hands‑on, proactive, and process‑driven; able to support a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
- High integrity and discretion in handling business‑critical financial information.
