Formación

Financial Accounting and Investor Relations Senior Manager
Role purpose

The main objective of the position is to prepare and execute the accounting closing process of Grupo Financiero HSBC entities on a monthly basis to allow the generation of financial information for local Regulators and Group. It is required to have a very good technical knowledge of local and international accounting, as well as taxes and controls. Very good analytical capacity, knowledge of the accounting process of a bank and experience in managing audits and regulators. Very good technical and communication capacity to train different areas involved in the elaboration of accounting and reporting under both IFRS and local GAAP. Leading the accounting set up in Group projects as well as in new products. In relation to Controls, expected to support risk and control framework, monitoring and challenging CMPs, review RCAs and ARCC and facilitate risk and control governance meetings.

Responsible of ensuring that all Mexico and LAM financial reporting is fulfilled to the highest standards, ensuring correct application of policy, appropriate control frameworks are in place and that accounting and reporting risks are identified and mitigated, manage the relationship with Rating Agencies, comply with requirements related to information to be disclosed to the market including press release and financial statements notes. Reporting directly to the Mexico & LAM Controller ensuring that processes and human resources are in place to deliver to the requirements efficiently in a dynamic and changing environment.

Main activities
  • Ensure the reporting integrity and accuracy of Mexico entities and LATAM, in accordance with IFRS and with Mexico relevant local standards and policies for all local reporting; leading the implementation of new reporting requirements for Mexico; ensure effective controls and procedures are in place in all reporting provided to Group and local regulator including LOB reporting and Mexico press releases. Leading relationship with Rating Agencies in Mexico.
  • Balancing the increasing complexity and requirements for the Finance function in an environment of significant cost focus.
  • The need to constantly review and streamline processes, accelerate reporting timelines and maintain controls in an environment of significant cost focus.
  • Preparing the team to deliver Cloud project once confirmed for Mexico deliverables.
  • Prepare and execute the accounting closing process of Grupo Financiero HSBC entities on a monthly basis to allow the generation of financial information for local Regulators and Group.
  • Review of reporting provided to local regulators and group. Review and challenge of variance analysis provided on reported figures.
  • Review of reconciliation of local GAAP to IFRS figures for both balance sheet and P&L. Review and challenge of intercompany balances including consolidation adjustments.
  • Attending external and internal audit requirements and regulators requests including yearly audits.
  • Active participation in all projects delivered by Group and local requiring accounting deliverables (IFRS9, IBOR, Basel III, VIR, etc).
  • On controls: Monitor and Challenge Control Monitoring (CMP). Data quality and trigger events monitoring.
  • Review of RCAs Global Finance. Review of ARCC. Issues reporting including escalation to appropriate forums.
  • Facilitation of Risk and Control governance meetings (RCMM).
Requirements
  • Accounting, Management Degree or related, Master prefers; background 10 years +
  • Experience dealing with Finance units/ systems/ Regulators.
