A global technology firm based in Monterrey, Mexico is looking for an Engineering Supervisor to support New Product Development and ensure seamless product transitions. The role includes coordinating NPDI projects, providing technical support across teams, and managing deliverables. Candidates should possess a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of NPDI experience preferably in HVAC, and proficiency with advanced CAD tools. Description
POSITION SUMMARY
  • The Engineering supervisor is responsible for supporting New Product Development Introduction and products already implemented in the factory during their transfer to the Sustaining group. The supervisor provides daily assistance to manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufactured according to requirements and prepared for transition to the Sustaining team.
  • The Engineering Supervisor coordinates NPDI projects with the COE team ensuring alignment with Vertiv standards and effective implementation. Daily responsibilities include tracking engineering deliverables managing escalations and problem resolution and maintaining coordination with the Engineering Development Manager to support departmental efficiency
  • The Engineering supervisor serves as a technical liaison among internal teams including Manufacturing Marketing Product Management Application Engineering Customer Support and Technical Support.
  • Provide guidance and coordination for individual contributors at both the COE and the Factory offering technical support during new product development as well as serving as the technical reference for design-related matters when assisting with ongoing production.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide daily support to manufacturing operations by ensuring seamless product flow through the production line coordinating with both on-site factory personnel and the extended Center of Excellence (COE) team.

  • Responsible for NPDI engineering deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with technicians and junior engineers delivering technical support and guidance to a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Provides support in diagnosing and resolving escalated or recurring issues in both field operations and on the production floor.
  • Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions -Manufacturing marketing sales application engineering customer technical support and services.
  • Understands the products suggesting ideas and improvements back to group.
  • Assists with creation reviewing and systems-entry of new product specifications deviations ECNs tests procedures user manuals submittal drawings and sales literature.
  • Working with contract resources and/or manufacturers for prototype/production builds
  • Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.
  • 10 years NPDI/Sustaining experience ideally in HVAC or refrigeration.
  • Proficient in mechanical and thermal design.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects.
  • Experienced with advanced CAD tools especially CREO.
  • Excellent planning organization documentation and communication.
  • Capable of multitasking in global cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
