A leading engineering firm in Veracruz, Mexico, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / Field Supervisor to oversee construction activities on a large-scale data center project. The role requires daily on-site presence with expertise in construction supervision and quality control of electrical systems. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards is essential for this position, which does not allow for remote work.

Arcadis Electrical Engineer / Field Supervisor

Arcadis is looking to hire a Electrical Engineer / Field Supervisor to oversee construction activities for a large-scale data center project. This is an on-site field position requiring daily presence at the construction site with expertise in construction supervision quality control contractor management and technical oversight of electrical systems.

As a Field Supervisor you will be the direct link between Arcadis and the execution teams ensuring all construction work adheres to project specifications quality standards and safety requirements. According to the control flowcharts you will monitor execution perform tests identify eventual non-compliance and coordinate with contractors on corrections. You will oversee both the execution and implementation review phases working with technical specifications and ensuring documentation control throughout the construction process. Additionally you will provide technical oversight of electrical installations power systems and mission-critical infrastructure to ensure compliance with data center standards and client requirements.

Role Accountabilities
  • Support Client in verifying construction site availability and oversee the occupation plan for equipment / material storage.
  • Participate in contract kick-off meetings with contractors alongside Client providing guidance on mobilization site setup safety and subcontracting requirements.
  • Monitor and verify quality assurance documentation for all construction activities ensuring compliance with technical specifications and standards.
  • Supervise construction site installation resource mobilization and coordinate proper distribution of technical documentation to suppliers.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative supervision of construction contract execution ensuring adherence to scope specifications and quality requirements.
  • Perform daily monitoring of construction execution alongside contractors supervisors and identify non-compliance issues for correction.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with planner and contractors to align on progress address execution issues and provide information for progress reports.
  • Oversee project design corrections during construction and ensure delivery of Data Book and as-built documentation upon completion.
  • Verify technological control for subcontractors conduct tests to verify work quality and monitor waste disposal practices.
  • Provide technical oversight of electrical installations including power distribution systems backup power emergency systems and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Review electrical shop drawings and coordinate with electrical contractors on installation sequencing and quality control measures.
  • Inspect electrical installations for compliance with specifications and codes and verify electrical testing procedures for mission-critical systems.
  • Document electrical installation progress and identify potential non-compliance issues with electrical specifications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Electrical Engineering or a related field (Degree required).
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in construction supervision for large-scale projects preferably in data centers or similar technical facilities.
  • Proven experience in quality control and construction inspection.
  • Deep knowledge of construction methodologies building codes and industry standards.
  • Experience with electrical systems in commercial or industrial buildings including power distribution emergency power systems and low-voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards applicable to data centers and mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience in supervising multiple contractors simultaneously including electrical contractors.
  • Full command of verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage contractor performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction Management certification.
  • Experience with mission-critical facility construction.
  • Familiarity with data center electrical systems redundancy requirements and power infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning procedures for mission-critical environments.
