A technology and electronics firm is seeking a Compliance Specialist in Mexico to oversee regional customs regulations and ensure compliance across various functions. The role requires a bachelor's degree and five years of experience in customs compliance, particularly in the automotive industry. Formación

  • 5 years of experience in international import/export, traffic and customs or customs compliance.
  • Knowledge of IMMEX and PROSEC programs, customs legislation, and special foreign trade operations.

Job Description

The focus of the role will be regional oversight and compliance with MX customs regulations. Responsible for supporting and executing projects of the Central Customs and Foreign Trade Function that add value to the AUMOVIO business. Actively contributes with production plants, research and development facilities, trade service providers, and government agencies to ensure compliance.

This position will serve as the main contact for internal client escalations regarding complex customs matters that impact the business.

Creates added value for all Business Areas in terms of all matters related to government procedures, and actively participates in foreign trade projects, programs, and certifications. It will also be involved in strategic tasks for the business, ensuring operations are executed in accordance with the law, and will be responsible for documenting compliance procedures and guarantee their application across different plants.

Main Tasks
  • Creation and updating of reports for governance purposes.
  • Establish and maintain correct communication channels and protocols regarding government changes that affect AUMOVIO’s business.
  • Perform and coordinate internal audit exercises according business needs.
  • Attend audit processes from the SAT and external auditors.
  • Measure TSP activities through established KPIs and support by creating new ones or improving existing ones.
  • Act as a link with authorities.
  • Ensure customs systems (Annex 24) and ERP control data are updated and reliable.
  • Execute communication protocols to keep the CFT community aware of legal changes, establish action plans as needed.
  • Maintain governance reports and create executive summaries as requested by management.
  • Carry out all other foreign trade–related tasks / projects assigned or requested by supervisors and management.
  • Ensure compliance and correct application of procedures such as registration of new facilities, coordination of annual rights payments, Sub‑maquila registrations, among other.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree: Engineering, Administration, Business or related
  • 5 years of experience in the fields of international import/export, traffic and customs or customs compliance
  • Knowledge:
    • IMMEX and PROSEC programs, handling of special foreign trade operations, knowledge and management of customs legislation.
    • SAP transactions related to SCM (for example, SAP R/3, SAP GTS)
    • Fixed asset control
    • Certifications related to foreign trade (VAT and IEPS)
    • Annex 24
    • Annex 30
    • Customs legislation
  • Experience in:
    • Automotive Industry
    • Operational experience in imports/exports
    • Management of Merchandise Transfer Certificates
    • Management of the electronic foreign trade file
    • Handling of special operations (Virtuales, regime changes, regularizations)
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Advanced English
