A leading company in paint and coatings in Querétaro, Mexico is seeking an EHS Coordinator to design and implement the EHS strategy aligned with corporate policies. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations while directing teams in safety and hygiene. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, coordinating training, and maintaining the EHS Management System. Applicants should have relevant experience and a degree in engineering or safety fields.

Formación

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 or others.

  • Coordinate incident and accident investigations.
  • Verify the implementation of work permits.

Overview

As an EHS Coordinator, you will design the EHS strategy for PPG Mexico, aligned with corporate policies and strategies. You will ensure full implementation and compliance with Mexican regulations, corporate policies and strategies regarding Environment, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene (EHS) at PPG Mexico. You will direct and guide safety, hygiene, and environmental technicians and engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, procedures, and standards on site.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and promote controls for their mitigation.
  • Coordinate incident and accident investigations, ensuring the correct identification of causes and corrective actions.
  • Verify the correct implementation of work permits (hot work, confined spaces, work at heights).
  • Train or coordinate training and raise awareness among personnel on safety, health, and environmental issues.
  • Implement and maintain PPG's EHS Management System.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and process risk assessments.
Qualifications
  • Field experience required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position. Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of legislation related to the Secretaria del Trabajo y Previsión Social, Medio Ambiente y Salud Ocupacional.
  • Risk analysis methodologies (JSA, HAZOP, What-If).
  • Knowledge of management systems (ISO 45000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, or others).
  • English: Intermediate level preferred (reading procedures, reports).
