About the role:

The Controller plays a pivotal role in delivering value-based financial leadership to clients while mentoring and guiding internal delivery teams. This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, thrives in client-facing environments, and brings both technical depth and strategic perspective.

What You’ll Do
Client Financial Leadership
  • Lead month-end close meetings with clients and internal teams, presenting financial results and insights
  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Analyze budget vs. actual results and communicate risks, trends, and opportunities
  • Develop cash flow forecasts and provide strategic financial recommendations
  • Serve as a proactive liaison with client advisors, including CPAs, bankers, and attorneys
Team Leadership & Quality Control
  • Lead, mentor, and support accounting teams to ensure strong performance and professional growth
  • Review and oversee key financial processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, payroll integrations, month-end journal entries
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and quality standards
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across all client engagements
Internal Contributions
  • Meet or exceed billable hour targets while maintaining service excellence
  • Complete internal deliverables such as time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly initiatives
  • Represent the firm professionally with clients and external partners
  • Participate in brand ambassador and culture‑building initiatives
  • Uphold data security, confidentiality, and asset protection standards
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices across the organization
What You Need
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
  • 6‑7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including time in a Controller or senior accounting role
  • Prior experience working with multiple clients or entities (advisory, outsourced accounting, or public accounting experience a plus)

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (+/- 1 hour accepted)
