We are currently seeking a Cloud DBA Lead to join our team in City of Mexico, Guanajuato (MX-GUA), Mexico.

Preferred Experience

• Ideally 10+ years of supporting traditional server‑based relational databases (PostgreSQL, RedisDB and MongoDB), with at least 6+ years in public cloud environments (GCP).
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL/MongoDB installation, configuration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL databases on Azure, GCP and AWS RDS.
• Knowledge of automated backups, maintenance, scaling, and performance optimization on PostgreSQL.
• Ability to analyze and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Proficiency in setting up and managing monitoring tools and alerts for PostgreSQL on GCP.
• Experience implementing and testing backup and recovery strategies for PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, Azure SQL and GCP Cloud SQL.
• Designing and implementing disaster‑recovery plans for PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, Azure SQL and GCP Cloud SQL.
• Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in PostgreSQL databases.
• Optimizing database configurations for better performance.
• Providing 24/7 shift support at L3 level.
• Updating KB articles, Problem Management articles, SOPs and runbooks.
• Passion for delivering timely and outstanding customer service.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Strong ITIL foundation experience.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Providing technical mentorship and cross‑training to peers and team members.
• Direct work with end customers, business stakeholders and technical resources.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall operational experience.
• 6+ years of GCP experience as a cloud DBA (PostgreSQL/MongoDB/RedisDB).
• 6+ years of experience in diverse cloud support database environments in a 24/7 production support model.
• Query fine‑tuning expertise (MongoDB).
• Shell scripting for monitoring (slow queries, replication lag, node failures, disk usage).
• Automated backup and restore procedures using scripts or Ops Manager.
• Comprehensive database health checks (slow queries, fragmentation, index usage).
• Upgrades (Java version, MongoDB version, etc.).
• Maintenance during data centre outages.
• Architecture design per application requirements.
• Best‑practice documentation for shading, replication for Dev/App teams.
• Log rotation and maintenance (mongos, mongodb, config servers).
• Segregation of duties – user management and role design.
• Designing DR (Disaster Recovery) / COB (Continuity of Business) plans.
• Database profiling, lock analysis, memory usage, number of connections, page faults.
• Export and import of data to and from MongoDB; runtime configuration of MongoDB.
• Management of capped collections and TTL‑expired data.
• Monitoring at server, database, collection level and using MongoDB‑related monitoring tools.
• Database software installation and configuration per client standards.
• Database migrations and updates.
• Capacity management (MongoDB).
• Server performance tuning and recommendations.
• High‑availability solutions and recommendations.
• Root‑cause analysis for business‑impacting issues.
• Experience with SQL, SQL Developer, TOAD, PgAdmin, MongoDB Atlas.
• Preferred experience with Python / PowerShell scripting.
• Secondary skills in MySQL or Oracle preferred.
• Installation, configuration and upgrade of PostgreSQL server software.
• Secondary skill in DB2 is a plus.

Preferred Certifications

• Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900) – required.
• Google Cloud Associate Engineer – required.
• Azure Database Certification (DP‑300) – preferred.
• AWS Certified Database Specialty – preferred.
• PostgreSQL certification – a plus.
• MongoDB certification – a plus.
• B.Tech/BE/MCA in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
