A leading automotive company in Toluca is seeking a Buyer 2 to negotiate pricing and manage supplier relationships for production commodities. The ideal candidate will have a related degree and 3-5 years of experience. You will be responsible for establishing contracts and ensuring cost control in alignment with corporate goals. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and involves some travel.

Education Requirement: A related degree from a four‑year college. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses seminars and in‑house classroom training.

We are looking for a Buyer 2 to negotiate pricing, facilitate purchases, and coordinate all activities required to purchase production commodities for NNA & NMEX plants.

Day in the Life
  • Negotiates and establishes commodity prices for production parts.
  • Handles assigned commodities and ensures cost control in accordance with Nissan’s cost reduction goals.
  • Locates and develops suppliers to meet current and future production parts requirements.
  • Ensures suppliers meet Nissan’s goals of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Performs comparative analysis of competing suppliers to select the most competitive source.
  • Establishes contracts for assigned commodities; maintains purchase orders and related purchasing records.
  • Coordinated activities between all departments and supplier base to ensure uninterrupted supply of parts.
  • Plays a role in planning, development, implementation and maintenance of cost reduction plans.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

  • Ensure suppliers meet Nissan’s goals of quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Perform comparative analysis of competing suppliers to select the most competitive source for a specified commodity.
  • Establish contracts for assigned commodities; maintain purchase orders and related purchasing records; maintain files and records of current and potential supplier materials and prices.
  • Coordinate activities between all departments and the supplier base to ensure uninterrupted supply of parts and resolve supply issues and problems.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and maintain cost reduction plans in support of the department’s cost reduction goals.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Education: related degree from a four‑year college (or equivalent). Consider equivalent related college or technical courses seminars and in‑house classroom training.
  • Previous work experience: 3–5 years of related professional experience.
  • Commodity and market knowledge.
  • Commercial and legal regulations knowledge.
  • Fluent English.
  • Ability to perform work onsite at Toluca.
  • Computer skills: working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, PC applications or mainframe applications.
  • Travel requirements: Yes (20 %).
  • Reports to: Robert Brennan.
