This role involves managing online permit submissions, reviewing production processes, and preparing proposals. Candidates should be detail-oriented, have bilingual communication skills, and ideally possess a degree in engineering or related fields. The position requires familiarity with design software such as Solargraf and Aurora. This role supports essential administrative functions in a growing team.

Formación

Baker Corporate Services provides engineering, operations, and accounting support to Baker Electric and Baker Electric Home Energy. Located in Tijuana, Mexico, the BCS team performs work that supports the successful completion of residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects in the United States. We are committed to ensuring an ethical and inclusive work environment.

Summary: The Design Administrator is an integral part of the Baker Corporate Services Engineering design team. This role is responsible for managing the submission of online permits, reviewing production processes, preparing invoices, developing proposals, assisting with project reviews, and creating 3D models using PV design software. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, maintains up-to-date requirements, and updates settings in design tools. Additional administrative tasks will be performed as needed to support the BCS design team, Baker Home Energy (BHE), and Streamline Solar.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Submit Permits Online: Responsible for submitting various permits through online platforms, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Conduct Production Reviews: Regularly review production processes and outcomes, identify areas of improvement, and implement changes as necessary.
  • Send Invoices to SUNation Energy: Prepare and send invoices to our partner SUNation Energy, ensuring all billing information is accurate and up to date.
  • Create Proposals and Production Reviews for ESA Contractors: Develop comprehensive proposals and conduct production reviews for ESA contractors, gathering necessary information, drafting detailed proposals, and submitting them to the relevant parties.
  • Conduct SGIP Reviews on Request: Review Self-Generation Incentive Program projects as requested, assessing project performance, compliance, and other relevant factors.
  • Assist with Rendering 3D Models in the Solargraf Design Software: Assist in the creation of 3D models using the Solargraf platform, understanding the technical aspects of 3D modeling and rendering, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure that all industry requirements are being met.
  • Maintain and update AHJ/Utility requirements.
  • Maintain and update global settings in the Aurora and Solargraf design tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skill, Experience
  • Solar industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal communication, project management, task management, and client relations skills.
  • Travel visa preferred but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks.
  • A Bachelor of Science, or associate's degree in engineering or an industry‑related discipline is preferred.
