The Opportunity

As a Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in architecting and developing the core systems that power our innovative legal platform. What You'll Do

• Architect scalable systems Design and implement high-performance backend infrastructure using Python, Go, Rust, and WebAssembly
• Build cloud-native solutions Leverage AWS services including Amplify, LightSail, and Fargate to create robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure
• Manage data architecture Work across diverse database technologies including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and vector databases
• Drive product impact Collaborate directly with the founding engineering team to ship high-impact features that delight users
• Shape the vision Contribute to product strategy and technical direction as an early team member with substantial influence

What We're Looking For

• Strong proficiency in backend development with Python, Go, or Rust
• Experience building and deploying systems on AWS infrastructure
• Solid understanding of both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities
• Excellent problem-solving skills and technical communication
• Enthusiasm for tackling complex problems in the legal tech space

• Experience with WebAssembly
