Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting & Reporting Manager to join our team in Mexico. This role will be responsible for internalizing the bookkeeping, preparing and overseeing the entity local accounts, managing operational tax activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and leading key finance projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Mexican financial regulations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives.

Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager Americas and the Global Accounting Director, within the Group Finance Department, the Accounting & Reporting Manager LATAM will be in charge of the following topics. They will be seconded by a Finance Administrator. The position will be serving as key contact for the Finance functions in Mexico: accounting, taxes and reporting to headquarters. The position is based in our Queretaro plant (Mexico), which employs around 120 people.

Accounting and bookkeeping for the local Accounts
  • Internalize the bookkeeping functions from our local accounting firm.
  • Put in place the Group ERP (SAGE). Implement a proper mapping between local accounts and Group accounts.
  • Prepare the local financial statements in compliance with Mexican accounting standards (NIF).
  • Perform and supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger, taxes and payroll. Manage the full P/L ownership and the full B/S ownership.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of local financial data and records.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Group procedures.
  • Maintain and improve the P2P processes within our Group System PROCURIFY.
  • Ensure that the reporting rules and guidelines are applied: cost-centers, intercompany partnership, appropriate GL accounts to be used.
  • Ensure that the Group deadlines are met on a monthly basis.
  • Overview the company exposure to currency fluctuation, liaising with the Group Treasurer.
Operational tax management
  • Internalize the operational tax management which is currently outsourced to an accounting firm.
  • Manage local tax reporting and compliance, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other local taxes in Mexico.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required tax filings (monthly, quarterly, and annual returns).
  • Assure the correct application of Transfer Pricing policy as per Group guidelines.
  • Optimize, analyze and check the tariffs and custom duties costs for the company. Follow up the duty free program (Immex) implementation and follow up.
Reporting
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for the Headquarters Group Finance team on a monthly basis.
  • Provide insights into financial performance, including variance analysis, budget comparisons, and forecasting for all costs.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting close processes to ensure all financial data is accurately reported.
  • Assist the Group FP&A team in preparing budget and forecast for the company: costs, cash-flows.
Projects
  • Internalize bookkeeping.
  • Internalize tax management.
  • Put in place the Group ERP.
  • And any other process improvements, or business integration efforts.
Interactions

The Finance Manager will be a real business partner for the Operations in Queretaro, giving insights on the costs, but also ensuring procedures and processes be applied and respected. The Finance Manager will liaise with the headquarters in Paris: the FP&A team, the Group Reporting Team, the IT Finance System Project Manager, the Group CFO.

Education & Experience

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (such as CPA, CFA, or similar) is preferred.

Experience: +8 years of experience in accounting, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on local financial reporting and tax management within Mexico. Experience working in multinational companies or across different finance functions (e.g., controlling, reporting, tax). Demonstrated success in project management, with a focus on finance-related initiatives or system implementations. Proficient in English. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) will be an asset.
