Position

The WW Retail Projects Manager will play a key in the development of Fendi’s global retail network, both in retail estate and special projects, such as pop ups and department store partnerships. You will closely collaborate with teams across Store Planning, Finance, Visual Merchandising and Zone Presidents across the regions, to optimize the network’s physical footprint and identify new business opportunities that align with the Maison’s growth objectives. You will perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to make strategic recommendations that enhance the store planning process and boost the productivity, market presence and retail excellence of our network. Based in Rome, the Manager will be part of the WW Retail division.

Job responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze existing boutiques and new boutique projects within their market environment by assessing competition, productivity by product category and store capacity, client trends, and relevant real estate developments.
  • Lead in the project management of the Store Committee process by creating effective agenda, project pipeline, recaps and follow ups that reflect true business potential and enhances the productivity of our retail projects.
  • Enhance our existing retail master database of brick & mortar locations in Power BI to improve efficiency and accuracy of all data in the retail development process, including lease information, construction and approval status, sales and productivity targets.
  • Develop impactful market intelligence and management presentations to provide leadership with insights, recommendations, which may confirm or challenge market potential of existing projects or introduce market potential of new projects
  • Assess feasibility of new locations, compile documentation for project briefs that include insights from region, retail and product team (sales forecasts, business trends, product capacity, competition, headcount, optimization opportunities, etc.) and liaise cross-functionally to define deliverables and milestones for completion
  • Orchestrate the 360 store opening process with the regional heads to prepare and drive a commercial plan that meets the store productivity and retail experience plans, and monitor performance post opening to address gaps with creative cross-functional solutions
Profile
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field, including finance, business, real estate.
  • Prior experience (more than 8 years) in international retail, project management, financial analysis or consulting. Luxury industry is a plus.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and communication skills, with the ability navigate complex global scenarios and complex problems with entrepreneurial and flexible attitude
  • Ability to create high-quality management presentations and materials with strong attention to detail
  • Superior project management skills to effectively partner with Retail, Finance, Store Planning and VM teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure on tight deadlines while delivering excellence, along with a results-driven attitude
  • Willingness and ability to travel to key retail locations
  • Fluency in English is required, Italian and French considered a plus.

MAISON

The Fendi Maison was established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925. The opening of the first Fendi boutique – a handbag shop and fur workshop followed. Soon winning international acclaim, Fendi emerged as a brand renowned for its elegance, craftsmanship, innovation and style.
