A leading automotive technology firm is seeking a Diagnostic & Testing Engineer with expertise in powertrain systems. The role involves deep diagnostic analysis and resolving issues during development. Candidates must have a degree in engineering and strong knowledge of automotive testing tools. This position is on-site in Michigan, USA, and offers a challenging environment for developing innovative automotive technologies.

Competenze

LOCATION :

ON-SITE IN MICHIGAN, USA

We are looking for a :

Diagnostic & Testing Engineer (Powertrain)

with a focus on identifying and resolving powertrain system issues (ICE, HEV, BEV) during development and validation phases. Performs deep diagnostic analysis and supports robust root cause solutions.

Main Responsibilities :

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for powertrain system malfunctions.

Analyze CAN traffic, UDS, DTCs, logs and failure reports to isolate problems.

Execute bench and vehicle level testing using ETAS INCA and diagnostic tools.

Document issues and propose corrective actions in collaboration with calibration and controls teams.

Support quality processes (8D, DFSS, A3)

Required Skills & Tools :

Strong knowledge of

powertrain systems

(Internal Combustion Engine, Hybrid, Battery Electric).

CAN / LIN, UDS, dynamometer & vehicle testing,

DTC / DID, DFSS / A3,

ETAS INCA logging & measurement,

diagnostic frameworks,

failure analysis.

Preferred Qualifications :

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience in automotive powertrain development, diagnostics, or validation.

Hands-on experience with vehicle testing and instrumentation.
