EN-DR-20: Train Architecture Engineer (TAE)

- Define volume allocations for Carbodyshell, bogie, traction and train layout equipment’s

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for
- Piloting general studies (Gauge, Weight, Infrastructure physical interfaces)
- Defining volume allocation for Carbodyshell; bogie; traction and train layout equipment’s, considering (outputs of his scope) operation main dimensions (passengers, crew, maintenance); carry over; components performances.
Personally, takes in charge (R of RACI) - (See AVVA and Train level RACI for details)
- Management of GS Layout and calculation notes; TRS
- Tasks related to M2 DR-DMT; FBS Design Reviews; GS KPI
Has Authority to
- Define dimensional and weight constraints related to his scope
- Assess SBS activity & deliverables related to weight constraints (SBS consolidate Supplier component weight)
- Agree the needed with SSL; SBS MLE; Train Design métier Domain leaders, upon delegation of TAM
Performance is measured vs:
- The added value in his perimeter and its re‑usability for other developments:
- General studies performance (induced diversity, number of passengers, train weight per passenger, …)
- Calculation notes up to date and compliance to rules (hypothesis, traceability)
- Management decisions & dashboard relevance (incl. visibility of tension on transversal performances & volume allocation)
- Activities & deliverables: Clarity and consistency of specifications to SBS
MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Knowledge
- Graduated from Mechanical Engineering school with Bachelor of Science degree
Experience
- Mechanical integration at final product level for at least 2 years
- Mechanical design in Transport Industry
- Use of norms, standards and regulation from Transport Authorities.
Desirable:
- Mechanical engineering preferably applied to railway products (3-4 years’ experience)
- Knowledge and practice in design V cycle, design to cost and design to manufacturability
