Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Product/Test Engineer with a focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Technology Introduction (NTI) to join our team in Catania (Italy). In this role, you will be instrumental in bringing cutting-edge semiconductor products from design to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring their quality and manufacturability through robust test strategies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Drive the definition, development, and implementation of test methodologies and strategies for new semiconductor products and technologies from early design stages through to mass production.
  • Develop, debug, and optimize comprehensive test programs for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to ensure thorough coverage of product specifications and performance.
  • Conduct extensive product characterization, including silicon validation, performance analysis, and corner case testing to ensure product robustness and reliability.
  • Analyze test data to identify yield detractors, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost-effective testing.
  • Support failure analysis activities by providing detailed test data and assisting in root cause identification for product defects.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring clear communication of results and progress.
  • Work closely with design, applications, quality, and manufacturing teams across different geographical locations to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Become proficient in utilizing various ATE platforms relevant to NXP's product portfolio.
  • Proactively identify and propose improvements to existing test methodologies, processes, and tools.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (e.g., 3+ years) in Product Engineering or Test Engineering, with a strong emphasis on New Product Introduction (NPI) or New Technology Introduction (NTI) within the semiconductor industry.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and digital/analog/mixed-signal circuit design principles.
  • Proficiency in developing test programs for ATE platforms (preferred: Advantest V93000 SMT7/8).
  • Strong debug and troubleshooting skills for silicon and test hardware.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for test automation and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of effectively collaborating with international teams.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Willingness to work in Catania (Italy) and collaborate with local and international teams.
