Overview
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated System RAMS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Naples, Italy.
Integrated in the RAM department belonging to the RAMS unit, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for RAMS governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of the RAM Programme of the railway system, subsystems and products, in accordance with applicable requirements, company guidelines and applicable standards
- Coordinate with prime contractor and subcontractors / vendors RAM staff; produce RAM analyses and RAM requirements verification
- Verify and sign off design, installation and commissioning of all systems / subsystems / products RAM related requirements, including Train Control, Passenger Vehicles, Service Vehicles, Traction Electrification, Communications, UPS, Platform Screen Gates, Fire Detection, etc.
- Support the Engineering / Product Development team in finalising the design to guarantee the maximum level of Reliability and Availability in compliance with RAM Standards
- Support the Commissioning Manager in identifying and prioritising activities needed to guarantee the minimum RAM performance across the various technologies and commissioning phases
- Perform RAM governance activities, coordinating subsystems RAM referents for each technology involved in the project
- Contribute to delivering systems / subsystems / products in compliance with the project / programme schedule and budget
- Report to the Project RAMS Manager or to the PM regarding status, deadlines, schedule and budget
Accountabilities
- Ensure execution of RAM activities throughout projects, bids and product lifecycles, in accordance with Hitachi Rail processes and guidelines
- Establish RAM Programme for projects and products
- Support and plan RAM activities
- Manage RAM activities and budget forecasts
- Provide feedback to project / product design teams from early lifecycle stages
- Perform Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Apply reliability modeling techniques (RBDs, FTA, Markov Chains, Petri-Nets, etc.)
- Conduct Life Cycle Cost analyses
- Provide products reliability predictions according to International Standards IEC
- Demonstrate RAM parameters performance in operation
- Apply FRACAS process
- Ensure suppliers receive appropriate RAM requirements; manage internal and external interfaces with other departments, suppliers, partners and clients
- Develop, improve and implement RAM standard processes
Required Skills
- From 5 up to 10 years of experience in RAMS
- Knowledge of International Standards applicable to the Railway domain (e.g., EN 50126)
- Background in Reliability Engineering for products / systems in industry (Railway, Aerospace, …)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Isograph Reliability Workbench Tool or equivalent
Education / Qualifications
Technical Degree or Equivalent Technical Background
Languages
- English (spoken and written) proficiency
- French or Spanish (spoken and written) knowledge is a plus
