About the Client

Our Client is a multinational company, one of the world’s largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. The portfolio includes machinery and plants as well as advanced process technology, components and comprehensive services. The company has important branches in northern Italy and we are looking for the Strategic Buyer Manufacturing for the Parma branch.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented BUYER to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. The buyer, reporting to the Head of Procurement in the Procurement Division, will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. The Strategic Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management.

Role Responsibilities
  • Works closely with category managers of respective category and project procurement managers implementing the category strategy and linking it into the business
  • Adapts and implements catalogues and framework contracts on Divisional/regional level in compliance with guidelines
  • Runs negotiations, awarding decisions and follow‑up with suppliers, takes awarding decisions in line with category strategy
  • Executes supplier selection along strategy, requirements, supplier base development, and identification of new suppliers
  • Direct involvement in and solving of issues with suppliers (e.g., quality, delivery, and service issues)
  • Research of new technologies, materials on request of other company functions (technical office, R&D, production office)
  • Monitors and communicates performance of suppliers
  • Ensures cost, availability, innovation, and quality within the sourcing plan creation and execution
  • Ensures compliance with procurement process, policies, and other statutory requirements within category
  • Accountability of KPI’s as agreed by the line manager
Key Accountabilities
  • Partner in designing increments of procurement strategy

Requirements
  • University, bachelor’s degree in engineering / Secondary school diploma in technical field
  • Procurement or Supply chain Certification (optional)
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement processes
  • Background in contract management
  • Background in quality management
  • Cost analysis and management experience
  • Deep knowledge of design to cost project related to welded construction, CNC & Carpentry
  • Inter‑Cultural Sensitivity
  • Experience with implementation of corporate procurement
  • Work experience in complex organizations
  • Negotiation experience across the supplier markets
  • Market analysis experience
  • Ability to network and build lasting relationships
  • Internal stakeholder /supplier relationship management
